A Good FCBD [May. 3rd, 2008|07:25 pm]
[Tags|]

Just got home from Free Comic Book Day and it was a really good time. A lot of people came out for it at Pop Culture Comix in Overland Park. I gave away 15 copies of my Tales of the Infinite #1 and felt pretty good about that. I'll have to mull the rest of the day over. I'm really tired!!

Happy Free Comic Book Day [May. 2nd, 2008|11:07 pm]
[Tags|]

Free Comic Book Day starts Saturday morning when your favorite comic book shop opens May 3, 2008, this year. For those that can't make it out to the one I'm going to be giving out my free comic, I have provided a .pdf version of it here!

It is a targeted to a younger audience, but I still hope it's a fun read. The file is about 3MB to download. If you do download, it would be very much appreciated that you leave a comment, so I kinda know that someone out there is enjoying it.

And comments afterwards are good too.

Have a great weekend!!

This is the logo I came up with for my Free Comic Book Day comic. I'm getting excited about it. I'm still inking the cover and hope to have it done by Tuesday.

I'll be at Pop Culture Comix in Overland Park for FCBD. I'm really looking forward to it!

Free Comic Book Day - Saturday, May 5 [May. 3rd, 2007|10:20 pm]
[Tags|]

Free Comic Book Day is Saturday, May 5, 2007. I will be out at

Pop Culture Comix
9337 W 87th Street
Overland Park, Kansas
11 am - 5 pm

I'm going to be giving away TwoMorrow Publishing's Comics 101: How to & History Lessons from the Pros 2007 to those up-and-coming talents in KC. Show me your work or draw something that I can post on my blog/website and you'll get a free comic that tells you how to make comics! Young or old, if you're interested in being a comic creator or just want to learn more. Come on out! I know I wish I had this book when I was younger! Or even 6 years ago!

I hope everyone interested goes out to their favorite comic book retailer and has a chance to look at not only the FREE stuff, but maybe something that you've heard about or something that you liked as a kid. I'm sure there'll be loads of Spider-man stuff (there's a free Spider-man comic just for this special day) just in time for the movie. I see there's even a free Legion of Super-heroes comic based on the animated t.v. series.

My buddy Bill Hook will be out there as well as Dayton Ward and Kevin Dilmore, authors and co-authors of many Star Trek novels and short stories as well as many other projects.

I hope the weather holds for us. Forecast is for scattered showers. Hope they scatter away from us! Hope to see YOU out there!

Johnson County Sun Newspaper [May. 12th, 2006|10:46 am]

The Johnson County Sun Gazette News, a local weekly paper, did a story on the events of Free Comic Book Day here in the Kansas City Metro.

Kinda.

"Bill Cook" is actually suppose to be Bill Hook from Topeka, Kans. Feel bad that they got his name wrong. I guess they misquoted him as well.

But any publicity is good publicity, right?
